I was just reading the heartfelt posts on the website www.brokebackmountainmovie.com and this one from SC really stuck with me:

"You know it's there, this love that you've experienced, you've shared. Secretly, so heartfelt, always understanding and knowing what feels so right is just so wrong to so many others. Always knowing you cannot return to what is real and true, feeling an obligation to maintain an image and continue down a path with which there is no hope for a happy future, and knowing you're lying to the world and to those who you care so much about. Having to hide to keep others out of the knowledge of what's really been going on, and having to keep to yourself something so sacred and true. Something so real.
And then finally coming to the realization of what is right for you, and what is meant for you, and not being able to share that with those you care about most.
Regardless of the situation, love is real. It's discovered, felt, experienced.
I know this story all too well. Peace be with others who share this feeling."

Just wanted to share it with you.. I can't wait to see this movie. I know I'm gonna be a big'ol mess by the time it's over though... Friday! Yay!!! One more hour of work and my freedom begins! It should be a fun weekend with the 3 parties that we will be attending. Tonight our friend's mom is having her Xmas party at the Lake. She is a really cool lady with lots of cool friends. She's alot like I hope to be when I grow up. Tomorrow night our friend is having his annual "Festivus" party. It should be a blast with the "gag" gifts that we always exchange. This year we're taking a "love" pig and a "love" sheep.. Too bad we didn't get to try them out yet. Sunday afternoon my friend from work is having his party with lots of homemade eggnog.. Yum.. Yum..

It's finally warmed up outside. Our little icestorm is over. We only had a couple trees bent over from the ice in the woods behind the house. It was really slick this morning while I was driving in to work. I only slide once in the parking lot. Charlotte got off light as usual. The Western part of the state was seriously iced with a lot of power outages, trees down, etc.
I'm ready for it to warm up. It is up to the mid-40s now, so it feels pretty good outside.

I'm doing ok, despite my "fall from grace" in my healthy lifestyle. I've been really bad lately. Smoking, drinking, soaking up some diet coke, and other things which I'll leave up to your imagination have all been my vices. That is going to change right after Xmas.

Wuzzy's picks for the new residential hotspots!

High density turns me on! I'm so ready for the weekend. I'm sitting here with 45 minutes left to go at work. I think I'll goof off and surf the internet until I get off.. I'm hoping for a nice relaxing weekend. This has been a crappy week with David sick again with tonsillitis. I've been so worried about him. I can't wait for him to get them taken out. Hopefully he will be rid of those little "buggers" within a few weeks.

My plans for this weekend are going out to eat, cleaning house, visiting my parents, and maybe putting up our Xmas tree to celebrate the life of trees around the world. Hehe.. Note it is artificial cause I'm not into killing innocent trees. Well at least that's what I celebrate on Dec 25! I've been on a major anti-Christian kick these last few weeks. My parents are getting pulled deeper and deeper into the Baptist Church. Uggg. It scares me! They have been so sheltered their entire life, I'm afraid that they will believe anything their preacher tells them. I told them that all I ask is that they keep an open mind and realize that there are millions of different views in the world.

I would love to know how my mom will take it if the topic of homosexuality ever comes up in church. Hopefully, she will stand up for my rights.

Blah.. Blah.. So-so at work as usual. I did get a chance to talk again to the new neighbor across the street.. She is a trip. I got out of my car and was checking the mail and she was all waving at me and wanting me to meet her son Quindell, who was visiting. She was asking me why we were wanting to move and then said that we need to hang out and have a glass of wine one night. I told her that we were all about some wine and she asked what kind we liked and I said usually Merlot and she said "She had never heard of that!" ok.... Then she looks me directly in the eyes and said, "Do y'all smoke refer?" lol.... I about died and of course the answer was "yes, once in a while." Then later in our conversation, she said that she hoped she wasn't too forward in asking me that and I laughed and said no. I thought that was soo funny.. It really made my afternoon. She said that we looked like we liked to have a good time. She must have seen all the wine bottles and Absolut bottles in our recycle bin today. I may take her up on that sometime. I'm expecting a totally shitty week next week with my dad in the hospital and all. He will probably be in ICU from Monday until Wednesday and in the hospital until maybe the weekend. It all depends on how he's doing. He has a cold right now and they are trying to determine whether he will need additional blood platelets for his surgery. He also has a problem with a low platelet count. I'm planning on going up every day and spending a couple nights and trying to work some too. It wouldn't be that bad if the hospital he's in wasn't an hour drive from Charlotte. I am scared. I'm picturing in my mind what he is gonna be like after his surgery. Supposedly, he's gonna have a tube down his nose into his stomach for a few days. I hope he's gonna be ok. They still don't know if he will need any additional treatments after the surgery to kill the cancer. I guess they will know after they get in there. At least we know that it hasn't spread to his liver.

On a brigher note, the weather is still beautiful.. Highs are hitting 80, no rain in sight. I really dread when winter finally arrives. I wish it could be like this all year.

Is the weekend over already?

Wow, the weekend did fly by fast! It was a pretty good one though, so I can't complain. We grilled out with some friends up the street Friday night and watched their dogs get into a big fight! There was blood flying and one of our friends was nipped in the side. Ouch! On Saturday, David and I went to my parent's house and stayed for a while. It was nice to spend some time with my dad. I'm sooo worried about him. We even waxed my car while we were there. I finally got my stupid cell phone fixed too, so hopefully now I will get better reception. They replaced a little chip inside that they said was outdated and it was causing my phone to "roam" even when I was in my home network, which I really don't understand! I had to go to two different stores before I could get a knowledgeable person to help me.

Saturday night was a blast.. We even made a new friend hopefully. By the way, it's not at all true what they say about the French! I've finally learned how to stop drinking when I get to a good buzz. I was so proud of myself for stopping and switching over to water. Wow, this post is so jumbled up.. Blab, blab, blab.

Today started with a big release which made us feel alot better and then we were off to Brixx for a spinach salad and a vegan pizza.. yum.. yum.. http://www.brixxpizza.com/ Then we cruised around in the convertible and looked and dreamed of the houses we can't afford. There was some ghetto trash apparently on crack today out there. There were some crazy drivers. The weather was absolutely gorgeous today though! A high of 79, Carolina blue skies, a breeze, and no humidity sums it up nicely.

I just finished cleaning the whole house for like 3 hours.. Ugg.. It smells sooo good though!

Still thinking about new travel ideas. I guess the next place I go will be on the ski trip that I won. I'm thinking maybe sometime in late January for a long weekend. I have a free 2-night cabin rental in Banner Elk. http://www.cornerstonerentals.com/location.htm What is up with the big Jesus fish? That kind of scares me!! I also have free lift tickets and ski rentals for 2 at Beech Mtn.. http://www.skibeech.com/ So it should be fun. I just need to find some more people that like to ski..

Cleaning tip of the Day: Never use Febreeze to cover up the smell of some funky cleaning stuff to get vomit out of a futon! It just plain stinks!

May I vent to the world?

Ugg. I'm kind of in a bad mood today. I really don't want this blog to be all negative, but I think it helps me to vent and get it out on here. I was just making the comment last night about how long it had been since I had been down. At least it's Friday and I'm having lunch @ Buffalo's with a friend from work. He's a really sweet guy, who is actually one of the few gay people where I work. Hopefully that will help get me through the work day.

To start off, I found out that my dad has colon cancer and needs to have surgery to have a big chunk of his intestine removed. He will need to be in the hospital for a week. Hopefully, the cancer will be contained to his intestine and hasn't spread to any other parts of his body. The doctor said it is 4.3 cm long, but because of the way the blood flows they will have to take a pretty big section of intestine out. It's very scary. My parents have never had any life-threatening ailments until now. I think I worry more about my mom than my dad. My dad has always been the strong silent type. I guess that's where I get my "quietness." My mom has had a ton of problems lately, however none life-threatening. I hope she doesn't "worry herself to death."

Luckily, I come from a big family with 2 brothers and a sister, so we can all pitch in to help out. We plan on having someone with him the entire time, day and night, of his week stay in the hospital. So I will be using the rest of my vacation time this year for that. So, there won't be any more trips for this year. His surgery will be on November 14th. I wish they could do it earlier.

Keep your fingers crossed for him and say a prayer to whomever you people pray to: God, Buddha, a rock, or a tree like me.

On a second note, I don't think our house will ever sell. It's been a month and only one person has looked at it. The property values have dropped by like $20,000 or more in my neighborhood, because the "scum" is quickly moving in to all of the formerly foreclosed houses that are now rental properties. I hate the "scum" so much, but that's another issue all together. It started a year ago, when they shot our house and David's truck. For no reason at all. I guess because they were bored. We had never even talked to those little hoodlums. Is it wrong to be responsible and take pride in your house and property?

Until next time. I had better get back to work.

House for Sale

Yes, I've finally grown a pair of balls and decided to talk to a real estate agent about selling our house. Karen will be here tomorrow at 5:30pm. I hope she's as good as I think and as good as everyone says. This neighborhood will definitely be a challenge of her skills. We'll see how it goes. I've been wanting to sell this place for over a year now, but I've just been a little scared and don't want to be disappointed when I find out that we may be stuck here for a few more years. I love the house itself, but hate the ghetto my neighborhood is becoming. It started out as the gayborhood, but most have left or plan to very soon. I never imagined in my entire life that a house may actually be a bad investment. I've definitely learned my lesson about choosing neighborhoods. If it doesn't sell, at least we will have all of our projects completed for at least the next year. We have been working our asses off fixing up the yard and doing all the little things we have been putting off over the last few months. We've basically relandscaped the whole yard and cleaned the whole house. We now have the greenest grass and the cleanest house in the neighborhood!

Here's our house on the right when it was being built!

I think I will take some pictures this weekend since we have everything in pristine condition.

Off to bed now.. My hubby beckons..

Next post will be about me falling off the wagon again!!!!!!!

Back to Reality

Back to Reality! Vacation is over. The cruise was a blast despite David's brief sickness and the stalker that kept trying to bite us! Long story!! My equilibrium is finally back to normal. I was actually a little nauseaus for the day after the cruise. I think I just needed to get used to "dry land."

Lots of stuff to do this week. I'm trying to put this house up for sale if the real estate agent will ever call me back. We've been doing a lot of yard work trying to add some curb appeal, and trying to keep things neat and tidy. I am not getting my hopes up. Honestly, I don't see this house selling any time soon, but it's worth a try..

Still toying with the idea of quitting my job and using my retirement to fund the next 2 years of my life so I can finish my degree in Geographic Information Systems. UNCC, which is 5 miles away has a degree program where I could finis, however it's not as good as ASU where I had originally gone to school. I really need to do something cause I'm utterly miserable at my job. I have no interest in what I do at all.... Period..... I sit there all day and stare at files, while trying to stay awake. For the degrading amount of money they pay me, I am not motivated to do much. To make matters worse, the bank I work for is ultra-conservative and seems to pride itself in hiring people from all the hicktowns surrounding Charlotte.

Other than my job, life is pretty good though. David will be starting his new job at Bank of America. I am so proud of him. He deserves it more than anyone.

Bon Voyage

Yes, it is finally here! Our long awaited Western Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Glory has finally arrived. We leave in the morning at 6:10 am on an AirTran flight to Atlanta and then on to Orlando. The cruise is not leaving port until Saturday afternoon. Hopefully it will be Port Canaveral and not Fort Lauderdale. That damn hurricane is sitting there just spinning off the coast and we are expecting them to relocate our disembarkation point a couple hundred miles south. Oh well, as long as we get out of the country for a while is cool with me. We'll see. There are 15 of us in all going. 2 guys I have never met before, so hopefully they will not be mean to me!

We have had a house guest all week. Our friend Steven from San Francisco has been here and it's been really fun actually being able to use the guest room. Now I won't feel so bad when we tell him that we're coming out to crash in his apartment in San Fran this summer for a few days..

I need to get in the bed. It's 10pm and I need to get up at 3am, so that we can be at the airport by 4:30pm. This Absolute Kurant is yummy too, so I know I will sleep very well tonight.

Ok. Nighty night.. It's time for Wuzzy to get in the bed. Well maybe after talking to our new "House boy." Hmmm.... Maybe I can bum a smoke from him.. Yes, I did cheat the other night and have one..

Wuzzy lives!

Yes, I am still here.. I know I haven't blogged in forever. Work and Travel have consumed my life.. Thank Mother Nature for summer. I'm sitting here just surfing the net looking at college stuff and searching for gay bars in Cocoa Beach, FL. We just made our reservations for our upcoming Western Caribbean cruise.. Man, they were expensive.. I couldn't believe it. That's how the manage to do a 7-night cruise for $550. They rape you on the excursions! There will be 13 gay men ranging in age from 22 to almost 65! A mixed bag of really great guys.

We are going to go on an all day excursion in Belize which hikes through the rainforest and then spends the rest of the time tubing on the Sibean River. The water looks crystal clear and there are portions that are underground in caves which sound really cool. We are taking an ATV/Beach adventure in Cozumel, which I'm just so/so excited. I love the thought of going 16 kms on trails to get to a secluded beach, but I'd much rather be hiking in solitude or riding a horse. I'm not really all about loud, gas-guzzling, polluting, vehicles... At least the other 12 of my group will be going too.

Well 10 and half work days and we will be on vacation! Yay!!!! We are leaving @1am Friday, September 9th from Charlotte in a big caravan and driving to Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach, FL and should arrive there around 9 or 10 am.. We're spending the night in Cocoa Beach and getting up the next morning to board the ship for a 4pm departure. Sunday we'll be in Key West from 12-6.. Monday will be a day at sea. All day Tuesday we will be in Belize. All day Wednesday we will be in Cozumel. Thursday and Friday we will be at sea, which I'm really looking forward to. I think it will be really relaxing to not have to get off the boat. We'll be back in Port Canaveral early Saturday morning. Then a drive to Savannah, Ga to spend Saturday night. It's just happens to be gay pride too, which will be awesome! www.savannahpride.org I absolutely love Savannah. If I had to live in another Southern City, it would definitely be Savannah. It is an absolutely beautiful and potentially really hip city. http://www.terragallery.com/gallery/categories.php?cat_id=1

Life Update

Upon request I've decided to get off my butt and add something to this blog. It’s been almost 2 months and a lot of things have changed. The big one is that I am now in a new position at work.. Same Religious Right Bank that I’ve always been at, but different position. I now work in loan operations instead of deposit operations. The job will do for a while I guess. It is my fourth position in 7 years there… OMG.. Is that bad? Honestly, I am so sick of banking. I have never had an interest in it at all. I just needed a job really bad after I dropped out of college. Big Mistake. It was for stupid reasons too. I still haven’t decided if I was running away from my problems or if it was the best thing for me at the time. Well I guess my sanity was worth it. I think if I had stayed I probably wouldn’t be here today. Seriously.

It’s kind of sad to think about spending 9 hours a day doing something you don’t give a crap about. I sometimes wonder if I ask for too much. Should I just try to find something that pays well and just do it? The way I see it is that if I give that much time out of my life to something it had better be something that I’m interested in and something that will fulfill me. I’ve actually been thinking about going back to school, but the only way I could do that would be to withdraw all of my retirement. It’s a thought. Does anyone know how long college courses are good for? I have an associate degree in liberal arts which is the equivalent of the first 2 years of college. I also have another year of additional classes… So close.. I’m not sure I could decide on what to major in anyway. I was majoring in GIS (Geographical Information Systems), but the Information Systems was a little more than I’d bargained for. I’m very computer literate as far as using applications, etc., but I’m not gonna sit here and rebuild your network or anything to that degree. I had actually taken some Horticulture classes at the local community college recently which were really cool too.

It is now spring and I am elated. I am so happy for all the trees to be green and everything else in full bloom. I can’t wait for the hummingbirds to come back to my yard. I bought some more feeders at the store the other day.

It’s Friday night and we just got home from eating Vietnamese and watching jets take off and land at the airport overlook. I love Vietnamese. It is the best Asian food I’ve tried yet! It is so light and healthy. I usually get something with tofu in it. They have a ton of tofu dishes. We have always gotten superb service there too. I’m just amazed at how good the food is considering it is in a kind of "shady" part of the city.

They jets are awesome too. I know it’s nerdy, but we both get off watching jets at the airport, especially dreaming we are on one of them. The highlight of the night was getting to see the big A330 take off on it’s way to Europe. That’s sucker’s huge! You know gay men are a bunch of size queens! 2 more weeks and we will be on out little "baby" jet flying to Houston and then on to SLC!!!!!!! Speaking of queens, it’s funny to watch the cars on the back row of the parking lot.. It is a major "hookup spot" for old married men to go get a blow job..

I’m starting to get my body hydrated in preparation for the dry air of Utah. I’ve been trying to drink lots of water. I need to because I’ve been fighting dehydration for a while it seems. It seems like every time I drink, I get so dehydrated the next day. Is there something wrong with me or is it a sign of getting older? You know I will be the big 3-0 in less than a month. I only drank like 4-5 beers last night and I’ve felt like crap all day today. I’m actually tempted to quit drinking all together, but I fear that I would be a party pooper at social events. Alcohol helps me relax and be myself and have fun when I’m in a social situation. I told David that I was just going to start smoking pot again in place of alcohol, but he wasn’t too thrilled with the idea. It’s been a year or so since I’ve done that. Although in my high school and early college days, I could have outsmoked anyone. We had plenty of practice using the blue 2- hosed bong between the front seats of the car! Hehe.

Random thoughts:
I’m tired of having to think about whether I need to make a new paragraph!

My court date for my speeding ticket has been rescheduled for this Monday. My lawyer had better get me out of it. It’s been so long, I’ve almost forgotten about it.
Tomorrow is Charlotte Gay Pride.. Yay!! It will probably be small and depressing, but you’ve got to start somewhere. Actually, I think it will be the fifth year. They are having the AIDS walk downtown in the morning also. We’ll be going to pride to make our presence known. There are supposed to be a ton of "bible-beater" protestors. I wish they would get a life!

We are also going to our friend Tim’s graduation party tomorrow night. It should be fun. We’ve never met his partner before. I hope they invite us back over cause they have a pool! Yay!! Swimming Wuzzy!

We took a trip to Charleston last month and stayed with a friend. It was so beautiful. We will definitely be back later this summer. I am all about some Spanish Moss hanging in the trees… I wish it would grow here, but we are a little too far north and inland for it to grow naturally, but with global warming there’s always hope. I was looking at the skyline tonight from the airport and there was a huge brown cloud over the city. Really nasty. We have already had one "Code Orange" air quality day here this spring. I can only imagine what it will be like in a few years.

I’m also ready to go camping since we have all the supplies. There are 2 pretty big gay campgrounds within a few hours drive of here, so we may be checking those out. We are still a little unsure about the clothing optional part.

Oh yeah, check this out. I had a dream the other night that I was in the White House and our wonderful President was trying to put the moves on me! We were on the couch and one of his secret service guys was in the room. Isn’t that weird? Then we went to the bedroom and he wanted me to top him! Then I woke up.. Freaky huh? I’d love to hear what the dream dictionary says about that!

Ok, enough rambling. I’m off to bed. Time to go love on David and dream of Flying Wuzzy!

Here I sit again

Here I sit again. It’s Friday afternoon, and I’m doing the countdown. 1 more hour until my freedom begins! I am so ready for the weekend. The week has actually gone by fast though. I’m hoping that I will not be bothered by the usual customer screw-ups this afternoon and I’ll have some time to surf the internet. It is amazing how many things people can screw up. Maybe I’m a lot smarter than I give myself credit for. I actually did have a very lengthy conversation with a woman who had locked herself out of her system and was having additional problems sending payroll files into us. It is so funny to talk to her cause she is quite a talker. We were talking about her recent Las Vegas trip, and it turns out she grew up right down the street from where I live now. I wish everyone I deal with could be like that.

In other work news.. .. I haven’t heard anything about the new job I wanted. I guess they couldn’t pay me anything close to what I’m making now. It’s really sad, because I don’t make diddly squat now compared to similar jobs at larger banks.
I also have been moved to a different cube due to one of the frequent reorganizations we are always going through. I like my new desk because I’m up against the windows and nobody ever walks behind my cube, so I feel like I have a little privacy. I used to sit by the main row, so I had people walking by all the time.

On the homefront.. We purchased a humidifier last night. Oh, it was so nice to not wake up this morning with a stuffy nose and dried out throat. It is normally so dry, sometimes I feel like I have a hangover because my body feels so dehydrated in the mornings.

I guess this weekend we will clean house and I’ll probably go visit my parents in the morning. Nothing major is planned. I’d like to maybe go to the mountains cause they are calling for snow, but we’ll see. The 25-35 mph winds they are also calling for don’t sound too appealing..

My dream last night

I had a very vivid dream last night that I was in a very strong wind storm. I was at my parent's house with my whole family. David was not there. I was trying to get everyone to go into an interior room, but not one seemed too concerned eventhough a window was already blown out and half of the trees in the yard were blown over. This is what the dream dictionary said:

Dreaming of blowing winds, symbolizes your life force, energy, and vigor. It reflects changes in your life. Dreaming of strong or gusty winds, represents turmoil and trouble for you. You are experiencing much stress in some waking situation.

Any other explanations?

Where am I ?

Oh my gosh, it has been forever since I've added anything to this blog. You guessed it, I'm at work, trying to kill the last 25 minutes before I go home for the weekend. Plus I don't have to come in to work on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday cause I have classes for work. Thank God! I have been absolutely fucking miserable here at my job lately. At least I hope it's the job and not me. It's probably a little of both actually. It has gotten to the point where it is going to affect my health unless I do something different or figure out how not to stress about things. I have applied for another position with the company, so hopefully I will get it, but it may be a little less pay, but I think it will work out about the same in the end with taxes involved.
Hopefully the winter blues are getting ready to end. Spring is only days away. The frogs have already started to sing and do all the other little froggy things they do!! The weather has actually been kind of nice, so I shouldn't complain. Last weekend, we went to the Wilmington NC, on the NC coast. It was an awesome city. I was surprised at all of the young artsy alternative types that lived there. I could definitely live there, but I think it would get old fast, because there are no other decent cities for miles. I think Raleigh is about 2 hours and Charlotte is 4 hours away. The low of the trip was sitting on the side of the road with blue lights flashing in my rear view mirror. Yes, I was busted doing 64 mph in a 45 mph zone. It was such a speed trap cause they pulled me within less than a 1/2 mile of it changing. I was in the process of slowing down. It was by a local cop, of course. Wadesboro, NC what a hell hole! I can't imagine how much money they make off of people headed to the beaches cause it is on the main drag to all the NC and SC beaches. I have never had a ticket or an accident either, so It sickens me. So now I'm at the mercy of my attorney, whom I haven't picked yet. Anybody know any good ones in Anson County, NC?
I am excited cause tonight we are going to a party at a suite in the Westin Hotel downtown. One of our friends have reserved the suite for HRC weekend and are throwing a little party tonight. It should be fun. I have never been inside the Westin in Charlotte before.

Another strange one!

This one makes me feel like I just smoked a big joint!

http://www.rathergood.com/seepage/

Ok, this is too funny!

I did a search for gay bars and this is what turned up! I don't have enough proof to prove or disprove of God's existence, but I feel everyone has the right to believe what they want to as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. I think that this website expresses my view on the perfect religion for me. http://www.graxean.com/graxis.html It sounds so wonderful and is the true meaning of spirituality to me. I wish I could find more information on this topic. I've only been able to find this one website. Read it and it will tell you a lot about me!

Today

I had a wonderful day today. I spent most of the day with Titts McGee, my new car! I finally am rid of Deiter, the piece of crap, lemon, Audi that was stressing me out all the time with his crazy problems. I now have a silver, 2005 Honda Accord Ex with leather. I love me some leather! I must say that I fell in love even more with Titts when I was able to spend almost all day driving her. I had to take a road trip for work and go to Montreat (in the mtns near Asheville NC). According to my mom, it's the home or maybe second home of Billy Graham. It's a good 130 mile trip from Charlotte and very beautiful up there. She tore those mountain hills and curves up!
After my work business, I took her on a trip up through the "Christian" development where I was doing my work business. http://www.laurel-ridge.org It was beautiful. Rhododendrons, and hemlocks galore! There were little waterfalls trickling down the sides of the mountains in spots. I knew I should have taken my camera. It just sucked that they were carving roads out of the forest to build houses for old rich conservatives. It was being built by a group I'd never heard of before. http://www.cbu.org I was a little "freaked" out at first to be going to a big "Christian Compound," but they were super nice. I'm sure that they would have burned me at the stake if they would have know I was gay.
The weather here was absolutely awesome today too. It was up to 75 in Charlotte and the mid to upper 60s in the mountains. I am awaiting the announcement that there is an icestorm on the way or something. This is my weather prediction: This week beautiful warm, sunny weather. Next 2 weeks chance of snow, sleet, freezing rain. We'll know for sure when it gets here.

Cool Website

This is a cool website about a new residential tower they are building in Charlotte. How do I get out of this endless cycle of work? It is consuming me.... I feel like I'm missing out on life sometimes. Maybe I analyze things way too much. It's not a bad job by regular workplace standards. I just get absolutely nothing out of it! I am wasting time doing something that I don't give a crap about! I know it's bad, but I sometimes dream of us being bought out by another bank and my job getting cut out, just so I could get a severance package and have to leave. Isn't that awful? There is actually some speculation of that, but I don't really see it happening anytime soon. I wonder if I get could get David to give up all of our worldly posessions and go live with the Zen Buddhists near Muir Woods and work on their farm. I could actually see myself doing that. There is so much more to life than the 8-5 M-F cycle.

Webcams

Here are some neat webcams if you're into skiing!

http://www.highcountrywebcams.com/webcameras_Beech.htm

Happy Holidays!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Already! Gosh has it been a month since my last post on here? It scares me to see how fast life is flying by. This past month has been a blur. Work has been crazy and all this mess with my car has been tiring. I have decided to just keep the thing and drive it and hopefully it will not give any more problems. Case closed! I should be in very good position to trade it in a year or so anyway. The blur has also been affected by the eternal darkness we seem to be living in with these short days. I usually have about 5 minutes of daylight after I get home from work. At least from here on out we will be gaining more light in the evenings
I have fallen off the wagon yet again with my “healthy lifestyle” that I was striving to achieve. It’s ok, I’m not gonna beat myself up over it. I will just try, try, until I succeed. We are both gonna start for real in January, which will be helpful if we are both in the same boat. I will announce the details when I am successful. I am up to 180lbs now! Can you believe it? I wish people would stop offering me cookies, and cheese cake every time I turn around! I have been eating good at these holiday parties. . Other that everything’s great hehe.
It is almost 2005 also, which means I will have another year of Vacation time. Praise Mother Nature! Let’s see 10 bank holidays, plus 22 vacation days. Where shall we go? For sure we are going to visit “The Utah boys” in Salt Lake City, and maybe take a road trip into the surrounding areas while we are there. I have never been to that part of the country, so I am very excited, plus there are 2 cute boys to boot! We are discussing a “Swim with the Manatee” trip in mid January over Martin Luther King Jr weekend. I want to go, but really would rather wait till some time in February. We will probably drive down and stay a couple nights in Orlando or Tampa. I am also thinking seriously and doing some research about going to either Canada (Toronto) or maybe Europe (London or Amsterdam) this summer too. I’m always open to ideas. What are some cool gay destinations? I’m at work right now. It’s Christmas Eve day. At least we get to leave at 2pm today!! I think everybody else in town is off from work today. I made it to work in 8 minutes this morning compared to almost 30 on a regular day. It was awesome! I was still a couple minutes late though. Haha Go figure. Btw. Someone just brought me an entire tin of homemade peanut butter fudge!! Yum, I’m trying to give away as much as possible.

The day before Thanksgiving

It was the day before Thanksgiving and no one was stirring in my department except for me cause I’m stuck here all alone cause everyone has left for the day!! Actually it’s not too bad, except for the pesky customers that keep aggravating me. If only I could find some way to get rid of this phone my life would be so much happier.

I’m debating now on whether to “clock out” for lunch or just stay here and “milk” the clock for some extra $$. I’ve already eaten my PB sandwich and banana. Yum, yum, the pb was so good. It is actually a staple of my existence. I usually have some every day. I hope it hasn’t gummed me up inside after all of these years.

I was back at the gym today after a brief hiatus due to my laziness. I know I don’t look that bad out of shape, but I am. I thought I was gonna pass out a couple of times, then felt like hurling after I sprinted around the track a couple times. I am craving a Reeses cup now, but must resist the temptation.

After work tonight we have the usual Wednesday night dinner with our friends up the street. Oh no, I just realized that I can drink even more since tomorrow is a holiday. That’s not a good sign. You will probably be reading a post from me tomorrow that starts with “Why did I drink so much?”

I can’t believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving already! We need to start thinking about Xmas and all the stuff that goes along with it. I’ve already started my wish list. We hit all the after Xmas sales last year and bought a ton of accessories for the tree. This will be the first year I’ve ever had a tree or ever really decorated after moving out of my parent’s house 8 years ago. I would like to get one with the roots on it if possible. I think it’s kinda cruel to cut the poor little Xmas tree down, then display it’s dead body in the living room for a month. It would be cool to be able to plant it outside after we are through. By the way, did you know that NC is in the top 7 for Xmas tree producing/killing states in the US? (However you want to look at it) Pretty interesting huh? There are a ton of tree farms in the mountains here. Maybe we should make a little day trip up to the mountains to rescue our tree! http://www.ncchristmastrees.com/

New Gays = Good News

Here is some news to brighten the day. We just heard that the last 2 houses that sold in our neighborhood were bought by more gays!!!! Yay!!!! It is amazing to look at the difference between the gay people's houses and everyone else. I just wish I could get everyone to fly their rainbow flags. That would draw more in I'm sure.. I have been really down on this neighborhood for the last little while, especially since Shirley Q Liquor ( www.shirleyqliquor.com ) is renting the house across the street from us with her 5 children. (seriously) Our next door neighbor is convinced that she is a prostitute.
One of the latest houses actually sold for very close to what they were asking too! That gives me hope that maybe one day we can sell this piece and get a bigger house with a back yard that is better suited for a hot tub. Can you imagine the parties??
I also got Dieter back and he is starting better than ever. He has a new fuel pump. I missed him.. I even had a pretty good day at work and even went to the library to get some books. I have 2 books on bonsai trees, 1 on Amsterdam, 1 on London, and a couple more various plant books. Well off to watch Queer as Folk, and go to bed.

Night out on the town

Why did I drink so much? It seems that is the proverbial question after a night out on the town. I am so drained this morning. The night was a lot of fun. I am sitting here with a cup of the life-giving liquid... H20 It is so good. I am sad and a little embarassed to say that I probably drank 12 beers over the course of the night. That is horrible. Good Lord! Let's say that I was already drunk before we left the house. Then on to the Penguin, my favorite restaurant, for a black-bean veggie burger, fried pickles, and hushpuppies with even more beer. http://www.coldfury.com/Penguin/index.html The people that work there are so grunge/Goth. I love it. My future ex-husband was working last night too. He is actually one of the owners. Very hot. lol. Then we ended up at a strip club, Chasers. However, I barely remember the strippers, which is probably a good thing cause I don't remember any that were particularly hot. I took a whiff off of poppers for the first time and I'm undecided if I liked the feeling. I guess it is better if you are actually in the act rather than sitting at a table at a smoke-filled bar. I remember rubbing on our friend, Steven. Or was it vice versa? It seems like that always happens when alcohol is involved.. I'm sure he probably thinks that we are big teases cause it has never gone beyond that and when it's time to go home we always go home alone. It is so weird how the night flew by so quickly. It was all a big blur. I am remembering little bits and pieces as the day goes on. Were my pants unzipped for a while? I think so, but don't know by whom? Was David's penis out for a brief instant? Very interesting. I even remember someone handing me dollars to tip with, which was pretty cool. I only tipped when they did the "black out" though, lol. I always gotta get my money's worth.
Oh well, I may say more later but right now I think I will lay down for a while.

Home again

We came home from the beach yesterday afternoon. We had a great time. We did some shopping, played miniature golf, ate, and relaxed. All in all, it was a very nice vacation. The weather was sunny, but a little chilly the first day, then warm and cloudy the next 2 days with some rain, which didn't really bother me much cause I was just happy being away. I didn't get crabs like I had planned (hermit crabs that is) and didn't get my Spanish moss like I had planned to put in the trees in the back yard. I'm anxious to see if it would live this far north and away from the coast. Some people down the street have a little in their yard and it looks cool. I love Spanish moss and live oak trees.. They are right up there with Redwoods and Palm trees. http://www.wcsscience.com/spanish/moss.html

We stayed at the Best Western Carolinian... http://pts.placestostay.com/script/gen_prop.asp?hotel_id=58369&MI=LS-00c4a61493e5e335d&FE=8425 It would give it an average score I would say. We stayed in the old building and it was typical of a beach hotel, so I won't complain. So, needless to say, I am dreaming of my next vacation. We actually ended up making money to go on this vacation cause we used one of the "time share" deals or as they call it now "Vacation Ownership" deals. We received 2 free nights of ocean front lodging (except for the $7.50 a night room tax), $100 cash, $25 gift certificate to eat at Carrabas, and another free 2 night vacation all just to listen to a salesperson try to pressure us into buying a time share. It was well worth our time. haha I am so cheap, but proud of it!! So now I am thinking of using this other free package for maybe Gatlinburg, Tennessee in February and maybe some skiing at Ober Gatlinburg. That sounds like a lot of fun!! http://www.obergatlinburg.com/ We'll see.

Right now, I am sitting here trying to cool down after one of my famous long, hot baths and listening to the soundscapes channel on tv. Awwwwww so relaxing. It's Channel 838 on Direct TV. I love the music on there. David should be home any minute. He is up the street having his satellite radio taken out of his truck by our friend. Hopefully, we can put it in my car. Yes, he is getting another truck. Good Lord!! I wasn't very happy when he called to get my approval, but hopefully it will make him happy. Life is too short to not have what you want. I'm just tired of making a truck and a car payment every month that total as much as the house payment. It's a lot of money.

Well, I had better go and get finished getting ready... Until next time..

One Of My Favorite Trees... Stuck at work, so I thought I would make the most of it. I am so cold! I sat out in the courtyard in the shade reading the Old Farmer’s Almanac and apparently soaked up too much shade cause I am freezing. I thought about sitting in the sun, but it was way too bright for reading and the Carolina blue was as blue as ever. I think it’s in the mid 60s, but the shade and the breeze made it feel like the low 50s. However, it was nice to get out of this building for a while and get some fresh air.

I had a very productive weekend. I was a lesbian-in-training all day yesterday. We repainted the columns and banisters on the front porch and fixed a design defect in the columns. We covered the base of the columns with vinyl siding to keep the wood from getting any additional water damage. The sanding and painting was easy, but measuring and cutting the vinyl siding was a bitch. I have a blister on my finger to prove it! Thanks to Charles for all the help. I don’t think I could have done it without him. I was ready to give up at one point cause it was looking like crap, but we kept at it and it turned out looking great! I don’t have a great deal of experience with power tools, but am slowly learning.

I also took care of my bush. My Osmanthus, aka “Tea Olive” I should say. Hehe You can find it on my favorite plant website: http://www.floridata.com/ref/o/osm_frag.cfm It is the newest edition to the yard. I planted it beside the front porch and door so you will be able to smell it when you walk up on the porch.

Well I was going to blab a little more but these stupid people at the branches keep bugging me..

Has it been a week already?

Wow! Has it been a week already since my last post? Time is flying by too fast! I’m in the same situation as last week. I have an hour until I’m free for the weekend and all of my work is done so I thought I would kill some time blabbing. I mean blogging. It’s been an exciting and depressing week for all of us with all the election news. At least I can say that you can’t blame me! I voted for the first time in my life Tuesday and persuaded as many people as I could to vote for Kerry, but it just wasn’t good enough. The redneck bible-beaters are in control of this state unfortunately and are promoting their “moral values” along with their war that is killing tons of people. However, I do have a reason to thank those redneck bible-beaters. Thanks for getting me so worked up that I registered to vote against you and will continue voting against for the rest of my life or at least until you old codgers die off. On a brighter note, at least our road/neighborhood bonds passed. We need them!

I guess I’m not the only one that has been thinking about getting out of this country before they round all of us up and burn us at the stake! I’ve heard tons of people saying the same thing. It just seems like all the liberal places are cold. Brrrrrr, I like cold weather for about a week and then I’m miserable. I am starting to feel the chill in the air. Today is the first day I have really noticed it. Winter is very close!

Well, I guess we will go back to the Renaissance festival tomorrow during the day since we have free tickets from last weekend. I want to see the jousting and the horsies. I like horsies. I may even take my camera along. The rest of the weekend will be devoted to eating and home improvement. We are going to repaint our columns and railings on the front porch and cover some of the wood with a vinyl piece before it rots and turns into a big’ol mess from getting wet. Actually, I think it should have been covered with vinyl siding when the house was built, but they built it as cheap as possible.

Things have been going pretty good lately. Knock on wood! Work has been okay, just a little stressful at times, but that’s to be expected I guess. I’ve still been going to the gym a few times a week which makes me very proud of myself. I’m slowly getting into it by mostly doing Cardio stuff. I use the elliptical for about 15-20 minutes, then walk a ½ -1 mile on the indoor track, then swim for about 15 minutes, then sit in the steam room for as long as I can stand it, which is usually about 20 minutes. I’m planning on starting back with the weights maybe in a week or so. I think the key to keeping myself going is to keep it fun and do things I want to do. I love swimming and walking laps. They are both sort of meditative to me

Well only 30 minutes left and I’m outta here!

Is it 5 yet??

Is it 5pm yet? I am at work right now, and I absolutely can’t wait to get out of here! Oh my gosh!! It’s agony! I did actually get to take a lunch today and get away from my cube for a little while. It has been crazy here the last 2 days. My boss has been on vacation all this week and my coworker has had sick kids for the last 2 days which leaves me here all by myself. It hasn’t been as bad as I had imagined, just a little crazy at times with the phone ringing. The good new is that it is finally starting to slow down. The end of the month rush is over! I’ll probably be bored to death for the next hour and a half but that’s okay by me.

I’m hungry too by the way. I’m throwing around ideas on where to go for supper tonight. I’m craving eggplant parmesan or maybe some fried plantains, black beans, and rice. Yum, Yum I’m craving a Butterfinger right now too, but I’ve cut junk food out of my diet for a while in my attempt to stop the growth of my love handles before it is too late. Actually, I just got word that everyone ok’d Caribbean food. There is a new restaurant just down the street from the house that I’ve been wanting to try out.

We are supposed to be going to the Renaissance Festival tonight if the weather permits. http://www.royalfaires.com/carolina It’s been kind of foggy/drizzly all day. Well, actually it’s been like this for about a week or so now. At least the temperatures are comfortable. Pants and a short sleeve shirt during the day and maybe a long sleeve shirt at night are perfect. The Ren festival should be fun especially tonight cause it is “Adults Only.” I’m still not really sure what that entails. I wonder if it’s one of those “Naturist events” hehe. Wouldn’t that be weird? I’m just glad that I can finally mark that off my “To do” list. I’ve said I was going every year for the past 5 years, but never made it.

Well that helped pass the time. Only 1 hour left to a weekend of freedom!!!!!

In case your were wondering

In case you were wondering, I have not developed a strange fetish for Kudzu. I just needed a quick place to post some pictures of it on the web. I had to pick an invasive plant to do a little presentation on for my class and thought I would show some pictures online. I picked Kudzu cause I absolutely hate it, but yet am strangely fascinated with it. I have to drive past 2 huge plots of land covered by it on the way to work. I want to get out there with my axe and start wacking to save all the poor little trees it has covered.

<img border='0' style='border:1px solid #000000; It's the weekend and I'm kinda sad. I've been looking at pics of DC and San Fran and wishing I was still there or I could relive those days. I just read David's blog and it made me start thinking again about how bad I am starting to hate Charlotte. It is an awesome city if you're looking for a place to raise your kids and live in a "brand-spanking new" cookie cutter, vinyl-sided house in the exploding suburbs. It's kind of sickening the way they can level 30 acres of mature forest and stick these ugly, cheap-ass houses all over the place with no planning or thinking about the "overall picture." The way things should fit together. They definitely don't do that here. It seems like there is no planning or control by the government at all. And then to top it off, they fill these houses with the bottom of the barrell ghetto trash that are coming from the inner city projects. I guess the land in town is becoming too valuable now.
All my life, I always said how much I wanted to move to the "big city" of Charlotte. This was where all the gay people were and all the "cool" clubs. It did seem big compared to the little town of Salisbury, where I grew up, but now Charlotte is a "big nothing." http://www.visitsalisburync.com My concept of the world was very small then. Now, I feel like I have exhausted Charlotte like a big, hung leather daddy would a little fem bottom boy. hehe There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about selling everything, quitting my job, and moving far, far away. I have lived within an hour of here my entire life except when I was in college in Boone. http://www.appstate.edu Boone.... Wow, that's an entirely different story. Oh, the drama...... I think I could write a book about my experiences there alone. How can a time in your life be both the worst and the best time in your life???
Maybe if I lived in another part of the Charlotte, I would like it better. I think about it all the time. Where would I move if I'm ever able to sell this house? The answer is always the same. I can't think of any place in this city I really want to live. I keep thinking about CA. I fell in love with CA when I went to Los Angeles a few years ago to visit my friend that had moved out there to go to graduate school and has decided to not come back. I must say I was surprised cause he was always kinda the "moma's boy" type. He loves it out there and just moved from Orange to Burbank to be closer to work. He is a "proofreader," I think for the the Young and the Restless. He is just scraping by though, barely making enough money to live, eventhough he has a Master's Degree. I feel bad cause we have lost touch over the years. The last time I talked to him was when I was in San Francisco. I called to chat while we were on the same coast, even though we were probably 6 hours apart. We shared many things together. Now that's another story too. hehe.
I simply love California. Big cities, small towns, mtns, beaches, deserts, fantastic weather, tons of gay stuff, and biggest of all a sense of openess and freedom.
Wow, was this ever a negative little blog. On another note, I have been going to the gym and enjoying it. I hope I can stick with it. I absolutely love swimming there. It feels soooo good!!! The steam room and sauna are kinda fun too. Lots of naked men, however not very hot. It's good for your skin too girl!! Gets rid of all those toxins. Hopefully, I'm not boring anyone with my writing. Like I said, I'm just gonna write about whatever pops into my big'ol fat head.

YMCA

Well I did it! I finally made my lazy butt go back to the gym. I haven't been in months. I am so proud of myself! I have to get back into shape. Love handles are not cool. Plus, I have felt extremely tired and run down lately. Hopefully I will be able to stick to it. Either that or I'm cancelling my membership. It's too expensive to pay and not go. Well, that' it for tonight. I can't concentrate cause David is blasting Shirley Q Liquor.. www.whocutthecheez.com/audio_ignunce.htm

Sunday

It's Sunday already. I've had a great weekend, despite some drama with our former best friends that have completely distanced themselves from us and we have no idea why. I'm gonna put all that behind me now, it's not worth stressing over. There are plenty other cool people out there that you meet when you least expect it.
Last night started off at the Campground Massacre, then to "Lesbian Central," Hartigan's Irish Pub, then to Puckett's Redneck bar just down the street. I loved them all. I finally realize where all the pretty lesbians go in Charlotte. There were some hot chicks at Hartigan's and a bunch of bull daggas of course. Puckett's was probably the funniest. Where else can you find 4 gay guys, a bunch of post-race Nascar rednecks, and a single black woman drinking and playing the shooting game, "Deer Hunter/Buckmaster II" with a big'ol plastic gun. The best of all was the big rebel flag hanging in the corner and the parakeet in the cage sitting on the bar. Needless to say we were very welcomed, even though we were a bunch of homos. It was nice to do something totally different from the norm. I realized last night how I back I sucked at pool. I think we will be back, it is the closest bar to the house and it would be fun to practice up on my pool skills. I need it!
I'm sitting here checking out travel destinations. Good lord, what is wrong with me?? That's all I think about it seems like. I am the happiest when I have my bag packed and I'm on the way somewhere. That is the best feeling that doesn't involve sex. I was just looking at Palm Springs. http://www.ci.palm-springs.ca.us/ Absolutely beautiful and gay fabuluous with beautiful naked men everywhere. I'd like to fly to LAX and stay a night or two and visit my friend, Rob, then drive out through the desert.

Myrtle Beach

Dreaming of the beach

I'm so excited, I just made reservations for our next little trip. We're going to Myrtle Beach, SC Nov 10-12 (over Veterans Day) Only 3 more weeks of work!!! These are our beach pics from last year. I am using a "free vacation" that I get through work. I get one every year. However, it's one of those deals where they try and get you to buy a time share. I did it last year and they gave us an oceanfront hotel for 2 nights and $50 cash for just listening to their presentation. I couldn't believe it. I don't know how I managed to get an oceanfront hotel this year without them making me do the presentation. We'll see how it goes. I wish they would offer me $50 again. I've put a halt on expensive travel until at least February 05, so we can pay off our credit cards.
We are getting ready to go out to Macaroni Grill in a little while and eat with some friends and then off to the Haunted Houses. There is an awesome place just across the state line in SC that we will probably go to, which is about 20 miles from the house. I can buy a lottery ticket too while we are in SC!!! Yay!!! I'm gonna win one day! Well I need to run, so I can get my clothes on. Yes, I'm in the buff right now. hehe

Beginning

Hello,
This is the beginning of my blog.
