What's going on in my life tonight

Today's been a pretty good day. So-so at work as usual. I did get a chance to talk again to the new neighbor across the street.. She is a trip. I got out of my car and was checking the mail and she was all waving at me and wanting me to meet her son Quindell, who was visiting. She was asking me why we were wanting to move and then said that we need to hang out and have a glass of wine one night. I told her that we were all about some wine and she asked what kind we liked and I said usually Merlot and she said "She had never heard of that!" ok.... Then she looks me directly in the eyes and said, "Do y'all smoke refer?" lol.... I about died and of course the answer was "yes, once in a while." Then later in our conversation, she said that she hoped she wasn't too forward in asking me that and I laughed and said no. I thought that was soo funny.. It really made my afternoon. She said that we looked like we liked to have a good time. She must have seen all the wine bottles and Absolut bottles in our recycle bin today. I may take her up on that sometime. I'm expecting a totally shitty week next week with my dad in the hospital and all. He will probably be in ICU from Monday until Wednesday and in the hospital until maybe the weekend. It all depends on how he's doing. He has a cold right now and they are trying to determine whether he will need additional blood platelets for his surgery. He also has a problem with a low platelet count. I'm planning on going up every day and spending a couple nights and trying to work some too. It wouldn't be that bad if the hospital he's in wasn't an hour drive from Charlotte. I am scared. I'm picturing in my mind what he is gonna be like after his surgery. Supposedly, he's gonna have a tube down his nose into his stomach for a few days. I hope he's gonna be ok. They still don't know if he will need any additional treatments after the surgery to kill the cancer. I guess they will know after they get in there. At least we know that it hasn't spread to his liver.

On a brigher note, the weather is still beautiful.. Highs are hitting 80, no rain in sight. I really dread when winter finally arrives. I wish it could be like this all year.

Is the weekend over already?

Wow, the weekend did fly by fast! It was a pretty good one though, so I can't complain. We grilled out with some friends up the street Friday night and watched their dogs get into a big fight! There was blood flying and one of our friends was nipped in the side. Ouch! On Saturday, David and I went to my parent's house and stayed for a while. It was nice to spend some time with my dad. I'm sooo worried about him. We even waxed my car while we were there. I finally got my stupid cell phone fixed too, so hopefully now I will get better reception. They replaced a little chip inside that they said was outdated and it was causing my phone to "roam" even when I was in my home network, which I really don't understand! I had to go to two different stores before I could get a knowledgeable person to help me.

Saturday night was a blast.. We even made a new friend hopefully. By the way, it's not at all true what they say about the French! I've finally learned how to stop drinking when I get to a good buzz. I was so proud of myself for stopping and switching over to water. Wow, this post is so jumbled up.. Blab, blab, blab.

Today started with a big release which made us feel alot better and then we were off to Brixx for a spinach salad and a vegan pizza.. yum.. yum.. http://www.brixxpizza.com/ Then we cruised around in the convertible and looked and dreamed of the houses we can't afford. There was some ghetto trash apparently on crack today out there. There were some crazy drivers. The weather was absolutely gorgeous today though! A high of 79, Carolina blue skies, a breeze, and no humidity sums it up nicely.

I just finished cleaning the whole house for like 3 hours.. Ugg.. It smells sooo good though!

Still thinking about new travel ideas. I guess the next place I go will be on the ski trip that I won. I'm thinking maybe sometime in late January for a long weekend. I have a free 2-night cabin rental in Banner Elk. http://www.cornerstonerentals.com/location.htm What is up with the big Jesus fish? That kind of scares me!! I also have free lift tickets and ski rentals for 2 at Beech Mtn.. http://www.skibeech.com/ So it should be fun. I just need to find some more people that like to ski..

Cleaning tip of the Day: Never use Febreeze to cover up the smell of some funky cleaning stuff to get vomit out of a futon! It just plain stinks!
