House for Sale

Yes, I've finally grown a pair of balls and decided to talk to a real estate agent about selling our house. Karen will be here tomorrow at 5:30pm. I hope she's as good as I think and as good as everyone says. This neighborhood will definitely be a challenge of her skills. We'll see how it goes. I've been wanting to sell this place for over a year now, but I've just been a little scared and don't want to be disappointed when I find out that we may be stuck here for a few more years. I love the house itself, but hate the ghetto my neighborhood is becoming. It started out as the gayborhood, but most have left or plan to very soon. I never imagined in my entire life that a house may actually be a bad investment. I've definitely learned my lesson about choosing neighborhoods. If it doesn't sell, at least we will have all of our projects completed for at least the next year. We have been working our asses off fixing up the yard and doing all the little things we have been putting off over the last few months. We've basically relandscaped the whole yard and cleaned the whole house. We now have the greenest grass and the cleanest house in the neighborhood!

Here's our house on the right when it was being built!

I think I will take some pictures this weekend since we have everything in pristine condition.

Off to bed now.. My hubby beckons..

Next post will be about me falling off the wagon again!!!!!!!

Back to Reality

Back to Reality! Vacation is over. The cruise was a blast despite David's brief sickness and the stalker that kept trying to bite us! Long story!! My equilibrium is finally back to normal. I was actually a little nauseaus for the day after the cruise. I think I just needed to get used to "dry land."

Lots of stuff to do this week. I'm trying to put this house up for sale if the real estate agent will ever call me back. We've been doing a lot of yard work trying to add some curb appeal, and trying to keep things neat and tidy. I am not getting my hopes up. Honestly, I don't see this house selling any time soon, but it's worth a try..

Still toying with the idea of quitting my job and using my retirement to fund the next 2 years of my life so I can finish my degree in Geographic Information Systems. UNCC, which is 5 miles away has a degree program where I could finis, however it's not as good as ASU where I had originally gone to school. I really need to do something cause I'm utterly miserable at my job. I have no interest in what I do at all.... Period..... I sit there all day and stare at files, while trying to stay awake. For the degrading amount of money they pay me, I am not motivated to do much. To make matters worse, the bank I work for is ultra-conservative and seems to pride itself in hiring people from all the hicktowns surrounding Charlotte.

Other than my job, life is pretty good though. David will be starting his new job at Bank of America. I am so proud of him. He deserves it more than anyone.

Bon Voyage

Yes, it is finally here! Our long awaited Western Caribbean Cruise on the Carnival Glory has finally arrived. We leave in the morning at 6:10 am on an AirTran flight to Atlanta and then on to Orlando. The cruise is not leaving port until Saturday afternoon. Hopefully it will be Port Canaveral and not Fort Lauderdale. That damn hurricane is sitting there just spinning off the coast and we are expecting them to relocate our disembarkation point a couple hundred miles south. Oh well, as long as we get out of the country for a while is cool with me. We'll see. There are 15 of us in all going. 2 guys I have never met before, so hopefully they will not be mean to me!

We have had a house guest all week. Our friend Steven from San Francisco has been here and it's been really fun actually being able to use the guest room. Now I won't feel so bad when we tell him that we're coming out to crash in his apartment in San Fran this summer for a few days..

I need to get in the bed. It's 10pm and I need to get up at 3am, so that we can be at the airport by 4:30pm. This Absolute Kurant is yummy too, so I know I will sleep very well tonight.

Ok. Nighty night.. It's time for Wuzzy to get in the bed. Well maybe after talking to our new "House boy." Hmmm.... Maybe I can bum a smoke from him.. Yes, I did cheat the other night and have one..
